West Midlands Police — Matchday Safety NoticeWolverhampton Wanderers vs Nottingham ForestK/O - 19.30pm
As supporters gather for today’s match at Molineux, West Midlands Police wishes to remind all fans, residents, and visitors of the essential safety and security arrangements in place — and of your part to help ensure a safe, welcoming match-day experience for everyone.
✅ What we and the club are doingThe stadium’s entrance procedures will be strictly enforced. Supporters will only be admitted through the turnstile block designated on their ticket or smartcard. Bags larger than A4 will not be permitted and all supporters aged 14 or over may be asked to undergo a search. These measures help keep everyone safe and prevent prohibited items from entering the stadium. The Molineux Fan Zone — located adjacent to Block 5 of the Sir Jack Hayward Stand — will be open from 4.30pm, offering pre-match entertainment, food, drink and a place to gather before kick-off. As ever, the fan zone is part of the club’s plan to make matchday feel safe, friendly and family-friendly. On matchday, our officers will be visible in and around the stadium, public spaces — including the city centre and transport hubs — helping to manage crowd flow, respond quickly to incidents and ensure public safety.
🤝 Working with the community: Fan Zone & “Mind Your Money”We’re pleased to support a collaborative initiative organised by Wolverhampton BID alongside local community partners — the Mind Your Money campaign — which will run a stall in the Fan Zone from 4.30pm today. The campaign aims to: Provide supporters with helpful tips to stay vigilant against scams and pickpocketing, particularly on busy matchdays when crowds gather. Offer free advice to fans on how to manage cashless and contactless payments (a reminder that Molineux operates as a mostly cashless stadium). Raise awareness of common financial scams, especially in crowded areas and transport links around the stadium and city centre — and how to avoid them. We encourage all attendees to pop by the Mind Your Money stall in the Fan Zone — it’s a practical way to help protect yourself and your fellow fans tonight.
🔊 What we ask of supporters — your help makes a differenceBe watchful and sensible. Keep bags and valuables secure and avoid showing large amounts of cash or expensive belongings. Use card/contactless payment where possible. Respect the ground regulations. Prohibited items (e.g. large bags, pyrotechnics, weapons, alcohol or glass bottles) should not be brought into the stadium. Violations may lead to ejection, a stadium ban — and, in serious cases, criminal charges. If you see something, say something. Report any suspicious behaviour, harassment or discrimination to your nearest steward — or, if necessary, approach a police officer. Alternatively, you can use the club’s anonymous text-reporting service (text WOLVES to 07723 479887). Be respectful to others. The matchday environment should be welcoming for all fans — home or away — of every age, background or identity. Aggressive behaviour, abusive chants or harassment will not be tolerated. Make safe travel choices. Public transport — from the nearby train and bus stations — is the safest and easiest way to reach Molineux. If you do drive, remember many roads and car-parks will be closed around kick-off. Please follow the directions of stewards and police.
🛡️ Our commitmentWest Midlands Police remains fully committed to ensuring this match is safe — not only inside Molineux but across the wider neighbourhoods, transport networks, and the city centre. We will work with the club, Wolverhampton BID and other partners to support the Mind Your Money campaign and to help make today’s fixture a positive, enjoyable experience for every fan. We thank you in advance for your cooperation, respect and support. Enjoy the match. Stay safe. Respect each other.
